Wildfire Recovery Efforts Continue Near Alexis Creek Crews and volunteers are still working to restore areas affected by last summer’s wildfires west of Alexis Creek. The Ministry of Forests reports that replanting and soil stabilization projects are underway, with local contractors leading much of the work. Residents say the return of green growth is a welcome sight after months of recovery. 2. Chilcotin Highway Upgrades Move Forward Highway 20 improvements between Riske Creek and Tatla Lake are progressing ahead of schedule. The upgrades include resurfacing, new guardrails, and improved signage to enhance safety for travelers and transport trucks. The project is expected to wrap up before winter conditions set in. 3.
